First Aid Instructor Re-Certification Course

To recertify as a Canadian Red Cross instructor, candidate must take the Instructor Recertification Course specific to your discipline, which includes an online component and an in-person classroom session. This course involves a prerequisite check, a review of new program updates, and practicing teaching techniques in a group setting. Candidate may also need to meet a minimum number of teaching hours to be eligible.
COURSE DETAILS
STEP 1: CHECK PRERQUISITES
- Valid Canadian Red Cross First Aid certification
- Have taught a minimum of three Canadian Red Cross First Aid courses during the three-year certification period. Note, courses which were taught in combination (example: Standard First Aid and CPR C) do not count as separate courses for the purpose of recertification prerequisites.

STEP 2: CLASSROOM COMPONENT
- Duration:6 hours In-class
STEP 3: CERTIFICATION
- Three-year certification
